Sketch Writing Workshop with Peter n’ Chris!!

Outside Joke is pleased to present another series of comedy workshops in their 2014/2015 Season. As a fun side-dish to our upcoming show on March 21st with the dynamic, Winnipeg Fringe-favourite, PETER N’ CHRIS, we are pleased to offer a Sketch Writing Workshop! Come and learn sketch comedy with this three-time Canadian Comedy Award winning Sketch troupe. They’ll take you through their unique writing/staging process and give you tips and tricks on physical performance and staging your own sketch show, that will add new flare to your improv & sketch.  Learn how to turn your good ideas into great sketches!  Bring in sketches you’re working on or show up with nothing and be prepared to have a fun and ridiculous time. Previous improv or sketch experience is recommended.

 Peter n’ Chris (Peter Carlone and Chris Wilson) are a Canadian Comedy Award winning, and 5 time Canadian Comedy Award Nominated sketch troupe from Vancouver BC (Best Sketch Troupe 2012/2013/2014, and Best Comedic Play 2013/2014).  Having formed in 2009, their narrative driven, cinematic and extremely physical style has already earned them a following and rave reviews across Canada and the U.S and performance slots in acclaimed festivals such as JFL42. They were a headlining act at the 2013 Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival, won the 2012 JUST FOR LAUGHS- Best Comedy Award in Montreal and earned “Audience Choice” in the 2011 Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival.  They have played in the Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival, Seattle SketchFest, and Gilda’s Laugh Fest in Grand Rapids Michigan.  Peter Carlone and Chris Wilson are also contributing writer’s to the sketch comedy program The Irrelevant Show, on CBC Radio 1, and CBC Punchline.  Peter Carlone is also the artistic director of the Vancouver Sketch Comedy Festival, and Chris gives him moral support on that.
