WOW. Wow-wow-wow. These last few months have flown by! We closed out 2015 with the second show in our 15/16 season at the Gas Station Arts Centre with The Secret Santa Improv Show! We had very special guests CRUMBS perform their patented prairie Harold – that slow, delicate story weaving that only the tallest of Winnipeg improvisers can weave. We also threw in a fun appetizer: local balls-of-energy Rumble Pak kicked off the night with a very fast, very funny set. It was a great night – thank you to everyone who braved the mild winter weather to share in the laughs with us!
Coming up in February, we’re bringing in FOLK LORDZ, from Rapid Fire Theatre in Edmonton, Alberta! You are going to LOVE their style: one part Indigenous origin story, one part Chekhovian character drama, and one part the-genre-of-YOUR-choice! These two dynamos – Todd Houseman & Ben Gorodetsky – are incredible performers. We can’t wait to share the stage with them.
But first! Our beloved Gas Station Arts Centre (GSAC! GSAC! GSAC! GSAC!) has publicly launched it’s redevelopment plans, and Lauren Cochrane of the Royal Awesome Society & Bucko, and OJ’s RobYn Slade have teamed up and are throwing a BLACK TIE GALA FUNDRAISER (!!!) to help them on their expensive journey. It’s called FUNNY, Done Formally, happening Saturday, January 16th, 2016 – 8PM – at (of course) the Gas Station Arts Centre.
Check out the Facebook event HERE for all the exciting details.
We’re going to be there, and you better beliiiieeeeve we’re going to be dressed like Oscar winners.
